Seminars in Kruševac and Sombor

Seminars

In the period between 6th and 9th April two-day seminars were held in Kruševac and Sombor within the EU funded Project entitled “Technical Assistance to Quality Infrastructure Institutions in the Republic of Serbia” in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, and they were

part of the awareness raising campaign promoting the importance of accreditation and conformity assessment. The seminar topic related to quality infrastructure – occupational health and safety management system.

The lecturers were as follows: Biljana Tomić, Head of the Department for Legal and General Affairs at the Accreditation Board of Serbia;  Živoslav Marković, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy; Slavko Plazar, Slovenian expert in occupational health and safety management system; Alojz Bitenc, Slovenian expert in occupational health and safety management system.

On the first day of the seminars in Kruševac and Sombor the following topics were presented: legal framework of quality infrastructure – free movement of goods and protection of public interest by means of technical regulations, standards, conformity assessment and accreditation; tasks of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in the field of occupational health and safety management – current prospects and future plans; accreditation and occupational health and safety management; presentation of EU legal framework governing occupational health and safety management – practical experiences form Slovenia; and review of good practices in the field of occupational health and safety management – experiences form Slovenia.

On the second day of the seminars that was designed as a round-table discussion on the subject of future challenges and possible answers, the representatives of accredited CABs, producers and other participants of the seminar discussed the following topics: accreditation and occupational health and safety management system; roles of the Directorate for Occupational Health and Safety and inspection service when implementing documents on work place risk assessment and experiences from Slovenia in the introduction and implementation of ONSAS 18001. The participants showed greatest interest in transfer of practical experiences from Slovenia in terms of ONSAS system implementation and good practice in occupational health and safety management.
