Five-day training for ATS employees and assessors

In the period between 26th and 30th April a three-day training on the subject of “ISO/IEC 17025 and Quality Provision in Laboratories” and a two-day training on the subject of uncertainty of measurement (GUM - Guide to the Expression of the Uncertainty in Measurement) were held in Belgrade within the EU funded Project ...

entitled “Technical Assistance to Quality Infrastructure Institutions in the Republic of Serbia”. The training was delivered by Guillaume Haran, COFRAC assessor (France).

The training covered a series of topics such as clarification of requirements of the standard laying down the accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories, while special attention was paid to the following topics: requirements of laboratory management system; records control performed by using computer equipment; requirements for laboratory staff; continuous development; internal and external audits; managing nonconforming tests, and management review.

Trainees were introduced to the basic principles of the estimate of uncertainty of measurement, while a series of practical examples were presented. GUM model of estimate of the uncertainty of measurement was explained.

The training was attended by the representatives of the Accreditation Board of Serbia, Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals, ATS technical assessors and experts, candidates for technical assessors, and representatives of accredited calibration laboratories.
