Information for CBs for certification of MS

On January 25, 2018, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) published the document entitled IAF MD22: 2018 "Application of ISO / IEC 17021-1 for the Certification of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH & SMS)", which is available on the IAF website (www.iaf.nu). This document provides a consistent application of the requirements of the ISO / IEC 17021-1: 2015 standard, or our standard SRPS ISO / IEC 17021-1: 2015, and it is mandatory for accreditation of certification bodies for certification of management systems that provide services of certification of occupational health and safety management systems (OH & SMS).

The Accreditation Body of Serbia (ATS) hereby informs accredited certification bodies (CB) for certification of management systems that have the standard SRPS OHSAS 18001 falling in the scope of their accreditation that the said document is in effect from 25.January 2018.

In accordance with the Accreditation Rules ATS-PA01, accredited CBs are obliged to immediately notify ATS of any changes in the CB due to the entry into force of the said mandatory document, which have an effect on the accreditation status, and therefore are obliged to submit all the management system documents that have been amended to apply and comply with the requirements of IAF MD22: 2018, with clear identification of changes (if any).

Also, all CBs are hereby informed that on 18 January, 2018, the International Forum for Accreditation (IAF) published a mandatory document entitled IAF MD21: 2018 "Requirements for the migration to ISO 45001: 2018 from OHSAS 18001: 2007", which is available on the IAF website (www.iaf.nu). This document will be in effect from March 2018. ATS will subsequently publish information about activities related to the transition to accreditation of CBs for certification of occupational health and safety management systems against ISO 45001: 2018.
