Quality Week 2014

Quality Week 2014, which traditionally gathers scientists, businessmen and renowned experts in the field of quality, was held for the 23rd time at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) in the period between 5th March and 7th March 2014. The latest trends and requirements as regards the upgrade of quality leading to business excellence and possible exchange of experiences were discussed at the Quality Week 2014 seminar. Quality Week 2014 gathered a large number of authors from the region and was attended by a large number of delegates throughout this three-day conference, whereas current topics as regards different fields of management were discussed.

Vladimir Trajković, President of the Fund for Quality Culture and Excellence (FQCE), gave the first opening address and announced the new 2014 Quality Oscar competition and invited delegates to take part for the 20th time in this jubilee competition given that the award criteria now included organisations outside the Republic of Serbia.

The conference was opened by Jelena Popović MSc, MFE Assistant Minister, while Dušan Stokić MSc addressed the delegates on behalf of PKS.

The presentation on the subject of “Cross-frontier accreditation – a need or…” was given by Jasna Stojanović, ATS Acting Director, who explained the importance of cross-frontier accreditation and basic principles defined in the documents of international organisations for accreditation (European co-operation for Accreditation – EA, International Accreditation Forum – IAF, International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation – ILAC).

 Over 30 presentations were given this year by speakers from Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia, was and those included that of Vida Živković MSc, Director of the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals (DMDM) which showed the experience of the Directorate as an absolute 2013 Quality Oscar winner in the public sector category.
A special attention was again on the round-table presenting the latest trends as regards changes to the new version of ISO 9001 the publication of which was expected at the end of 2015.
