“Building Trust – the Conformity Assessment Toolbox”
Current eventsThe Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) published the Serbian version of the publication entitled “Building trust – the conformity assessment toolbox” with a support from the German Organisation for International Cooperation (GIZ) as part of the ACCESS programme. Given that it provides a review of all aspects of conformity assessment it can be used by managers, regulators, and consumer representatives.
Most of the delegates came from Belgrade (105), then Novi Sad (21) and from other towns throughout Serbia: Subotica, Sremska Kamenica, Bačka Palanka, Požarevac, Valjevo, Vršac, Zrenjanin, Pančevo, Pirot, Niš, Čačak, Gornji Milanovac, Kragujevac, Kraljevo and Kruševac. Furthermore, representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, institutes, ministries, public companies, institutions, agencies, private companies and consumer associations attended the event. However, a significant number of representatives of small and medium sized export-oriented enterprises took part in the event.
Vidosava Džagić, Vice Chair of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and Ivan Krstić, ISS Director, gave opening addresses on behalf of the organiser. This was followed by a lecture given by Snežana Matić, Head of the Department for Strategy and Development Policy of Standardization, Accreditation and Metrology, Ministry of Finance and Economy, on the subject of: “Quality Infrastructure – Legal and Institutional Framework”. Helmut Mairhofer addressed the delegates on behalf of GIZ, and his address was followed by a lecture given by Smiljana Raičević, member of the Committee for Standards and Related Documents in the Field of Conformity Assessment (CASCO), when she talked about the importance of standardization in this field. Jasna Stojanović, Acting Director of the Accreditation Body of Serbia, gave a short lecture on the subject of: “International Recognition of the Accreditation Body of Serbia – Importance of Multilateral Agreements”. At the end, Vida Živković, Director of the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals, explained the role of this institution in assessing conformity of measuring instruments with prescribed requirements.
All the delegates received, as previously announced, a copy of this comprehensive publication, whereas a cocktail was organised at the end of the event.
