The provision of the result quality is one of the key standard requirements (SRPS ISO/IEC 17025 and SRPS ISO 15189) that must be met by accredited medical laboratories. Monitoring and maintenance of high level of test result quality can be attained by means of internal and external control.
The lecture highlighted, among other things, the importance of external quality control to be attained when participating in PT schemes and inter-laboratory comparisons, and the need for the said schemes and comparisons to be organised in Serbia in the field of microbiological testing of human clinical samples.
