Invitation to propose members of the Accreditation Council

We hereby invite interested representatives of accredited conformity assessment bodies meeting the defined criteria to send their applications and CVs to the Accreditation Body of Serbia by 20th May 2011.
INVITATION FOR ACCREDITED CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT BODIES TO PROPOSE MEMBERS OF THE ACCREDITATION COUNCIL
Pursuant to Article 12 of the Law on Accreditation (“Official Gazette of the RS”, No 73/2010) and articles 28 and 29 of the Decision on Amendments to the Act on Establishment of the Accreditation Board of Serbia (“Official Gazette of the RS”, No 14/2011), the Accreditation Council shall be established as the ATS technical advisory body dealing with accreditation-related issues. Renowned experts and scientists from fields relevant to the performance of activities falling within the scope of the ATS are chosen to become the members of the Council, as representatives of the interested parties.
The Council shall: provide opinions as regards the development of accreditation system in the Republic of Serbia, take initiatives to extend the scope of the ATS activities, i.e. to establish new accreditation schemes, provide opinions as regards the application of the requirements of accreditation standards in certain fields, propose the establishment of standing or temporary technical committees as work bodies for certain fields of accreditation and identify parties to participate therein, adopt rules and criteria for the appointment and operation of technical committees, determine tasks of the technical committees, and take stands on other technical issues as per the request of the Management Board.
The following are identified as interested parties: public administration bodies and holders of public authorisations, faculties and institutes, companies, entrepreneurs, chambers, etc., consumer organisations, manufacturers’ organisations, and accredited conformity assessment bodies.
The following criteria must be met by the proposed candidate members of the Accreditation Council:
- they shall be renowned experts having competence in the fields of importance to the performance of activities falling within the scope of the ATS activities;
- they shall hold positions that will enable them to influence the decision-making and implementation of decisions related to quality infrastructure, accreditation and assessment of compliance with regulations;
- CVs and results achieved during the course of their previous engagement in the fields of importance to the activities falling within the scope of ATS activities shall be used as a staring point, and
- previous direct or indirect participation in the operation of or cooperation with ATS.
Since one of the parties interested in accreditation are representatives of accredited conformity assessment bodies, the candidates meeting the criteria for the selection of the Accreditation Council members that spent 5 years working in an accredited conformity assessment body and took active participation in the operation of the ATS organs and bodies shall, within two weeks, i.e. by 20th May 2011, submit to the Accreditation Board of Serbia their applications and CVs to the following address:
