Decisions on extension of the ATS activities

Current events

The Management Board of the Accreditation Board of Serbia made, inter alia, decisions on the extension of scope of activities of the Accreditation Board of Serbia at its sessions of 29th December 2009 and 23rd February 2010.

The scope of the ATS activities will be extended by the establishment of the following schemes of accreditation:

- for certification bodies certifying persons as per SRPS ISO/IEC 17024:2005 based on the interest of conformity assessment bodies in accreditation of certification bodies for welders;
- for the establishment of EMAS system verifier accreditation scheme that is developed by the ATS on the basis of the Law on Environmental Protection laying down such type of accreditation, and in accordance with the EU Regulation (EC) No 761/2001;
- for the establishment of the new accreditation scheme for certification bodies in the field of organic production and geographical origin as per the Bill on Organic Production and Law on Geographical Origin providing for accreditation as a prerequisite to authorisation of certification bodies and inspection bodies that will perform their activities in accordance with the law;
- for the extension of the field of certification of certification bodies certifying management systems in the following areas: certification of food safety management system (SRPS ISO 22000:2007); certification of occupational health and safety management system (SRPS OHSAS 18001:2007); certification of information security management system (SRPS ISO/IEC 27001:2007); accreditation of providers of PT schemes and inter-laboratory comparisons due to the intense interest in the accreditation of PT providers in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043 covering the requirements for the accreditation of PT providers.

Furthermore, the scope of activities of the Accreditation Board of Serbia will be extended by the establishment of the new accreditation scheme for the application of SRPS EN/TS 15675 in case of measurement of the air quality and/or emission. The ATS should start developing the said scheme on the basis of the Air Protection Law (“Official Gazette of the RS” No. 36/09).

In accordance with the Procedure entitled ATS-PR-13 Extension to the Scope of Activities of the ATS, the ATS will, on the basis of the decisions made by the Management Board in order to extend the scope of activities, define the projects for the extension to the scope of ATS activities and select those to carry out the activities.
