The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), announced the winner of the poster design competition for this year’s WAD, on the theme: ‘’Supporting the Future of Global Trade’’, which is traditionally celebrated on June 9th annually.
Vivek Vardhan won first place among many designers and won a prize of $1,500. This colorful design is inspired by the Sanskrit phrase: ‘’Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’’ which means: ‘’The world is one family’’, highlighting the importance of accreditation in promoting quality worldwide and facilitating trade as the global economy has gone through many challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can read more about Mr. Vardhan here.
The winning poster is available here.
You can also view here the posters of the second and third-place winners of this competition, Zhang Meng and Joshua Egahi-Ojo Alhassan who won the $500 prize.
We remind you that WAD was established in 2007 by the Joint General Assembly of IAF and ILAC, and was first celebrated in 2008 with the theme ‘’Accreditation: Establishing Trust in the Global Market’’. In the following years, topics have also highlighted many important aspects of accreditation, such as its ability to provide confidence in the quality of products and services, how it benefits specific groups such as regulators, CABs, and its role in addressing specific issues.
Last year, the theme of the WAD was: ‘’Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment’’ which aimed to draw attention to how accreditation and conformity assessment provides global solutions to issues of general importance.ATS, like every year, supported this Day and last year celebrated it on June 28th together with the celebration of the Accreditation Day in Serbia.
ATS is happy to support WAD this time and looks forward to upcoming events that will mark this Day.
