The Scientific and Technical Forum entitled SAFETY OF INFORMATION, MISUSE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES - SIZIT 09 was held on 1st and 2nd July at the Mihajlo Pupin Institute in Belgrade.
The aim of this forum was to contribute to information safety awareness raising in our country and point out to the need to define and adopt the National Strategy for Information Safety as a basis for implementing information safety policy and establishment of the information safety management system in accordance with ISO/IEC 27000 series.
The Ministry for Telecommunications and Information Society sponsored the Forum, and the Mihajlo Pupin Institute and IT Auditors Association organised the Forum.
The participants and lecturers were the representatives of: RATEL, Public Prosecutor’s Office of Serbia, Serbian Army-Directorate of Telecommunications and Informatics, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Accreditation Board of Serbia, Police Academy, ETF, FON, FPN, VETŠ, and the Information Commissioner.
Key topics of the Forum covered the following: safety and information safety policy, international standards and importance of certification and accreditation, practical experiences, information classification, modalities to raise information safety level, legal aspects and harmonisation with legal requirements, incident response and business continuity.
Vida Živković, MSc, attended the forum as an ATS representative and she presented the paper entitled “Safety Management Information System – Role and Importance of Certification and Accreditation”, the authors of which were Vida Živković, MSc, and Dejan Krnjaić, PhD.
